ALLAHABAD: The University Grants
Commission (UGC) has issued a circular warning students to remain alert
of fake educational institutions which are operating across the
country. The circular comes in wake of various complaints received in
this regard by the UGC. The circular clearly states that
UGC recognises only 49 private universities in the country. Among
these, maximum are in Rajasthan (13). Next comes Uttar Pradesh (8),
followed by Gujarat (6), Uttarakhand (5)
